Business Continuity Planning (BCP) is the planning that an organization conducts in order to be prepared for incidents that could jeopardize the organization's core mission and its long-term health. 


Such incidents include:

Local incidents (fires, localized flooding, accidents, terrorist acts)
Regional incidents (earthquakes, storms, floods)
National incidents (pandemic illnesses)
